Launch of an additional vaccination campaign for all professionals in contact with vulnerable people

In order to continue to raise awareness among health professionals about the COVID-19 vaccination, the Minister of Health, Paulette Lenert, and the Minister for Family Affairs and Integration, Corinne Cahen, have launched an additional vaccination campaign targeting all professionals in contact with vulnerable people.

Thus, all professionals in contact with vulnerable people and not yet vaccinated will have the opportunity to be vaccinated with Pfizer's Comirnaty® vaccine without any prior administrative procedures, close to their workplace, during flexible slots when mobile teams in itinerant buses visit several sites throughout the country between 28 July and 10 August.

This vaccination campaign targets salaried staff, subcontracted staff, volunteers, and trainees and students who are working at the time of the mobile team's visit in the following facilities: Continuous Stay Establishments (ESC); Integrated Centres for the Elderly (CIPA); Supported Housing (LE); Structures for people with disabilities, i.e. intermittent stay establishments (ESI); Day activity services, sheltered workshops and vocational training centres; Aid and care networks (RAS).

This additional vaccination campaign is also targeting health professionals in Luxembourg hospitals. To this end, vaccination missions will be organised by mobile teams of the Health Directorate during the week of 26 to 30 July 2021. All salaried staff (nursing or administrative), subcontracted staff working in hospital structures and active trainees and students, as well as private doctors from Luxembourg's four hospital centres (CHL, HRS, CHEM, CHDN) and eight specialised hospital establishments (INCCI, Centre François Baclesse, CHNP, REHAZENTER, Hôpital intercommunal Steinfort, Centre de Réhabilitation Château de Colpach - Croix-Rouge) will be able to be vaccinated when the mobile teams visit the hospital establishments (CHL, HRS, CHEM, CHDN, CHNP). Health professionals from Haus Omega and Domaine Thermal Mondorf will be able to take advantage of the visit of the mobile teams to the Hospice Civil in Hamm and the reception centre of the Yolande group in Mondorf respectively.

During the vaccination missions in hospitals, the vaccine used is the Janssen vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) and in the structures of the COPAS and FEDAS sector, the Pfizer Comirnaty® vaccine will be administered.

As ministers Paulette Lenert and Corinne Cahen stressed: "If everyone contributes their share to the collective effort of solidarity, we can defeat the virus."
