Sources of contamination

Regarding the source of the infections, the proportion of holiday-related cases decreased slightly from 52% to 45% but remains the most important cause. Of the 288 positive cases for the week of 31 August to 6 September, 126 positive cases are indeed related to travels abroad. The Ministry of Health reiterates the importance of respecting health instructions even during holidays abroad. It is an essential part of the fight against the spread of the virus.

In addition, 57 cases (20%) probably were transmitted within families and 5 cases (2%) were related to family or friends' parties. 14 cases are from 4 previously identified active clusters (business, leisure, HORECA).
